LED Work Lamp
Got these
12V led lamps from ebay which are used as funky white lights in car bumpers. They cost around AUD2.50 for 2.
Three of these plus a 12V 1A power supply work great as a worklamp mounted on my old swing-arm lamp whose fluorescent tube had finally died.
I added some thermal paste between the leds and the mounting bracket as they get pretty hot. With hindsight, I
should have mounted them on a heatsink or something larger.
Switch conversion from latched to momentary action
I bought a bagful of low power latched switches from ebay but found a need for some momentary pushbuttons.
Rather than getting another bag of pushbuttons, I decided to convert the latched ones to momentary action. Here's the switch itself:
After prising open the plastic tabs on the switch case, these are the individual parts.
You need the switch casing and base.
The switch pins.
The switch stem.
The switch contact plates.
And the spring which fits into the stem. In the final assembly, I fitted both contact plates.
After assembly, I now have a perfect momentary action switch!
